Note: To work as an EV diagnostic mechanic, additional equipment is required which is not included in the course fee.

Welcome to our Electric Vehicle (EV) Technician Training Program!
This course is designed to equip you with the necessary skills and knowledge to become a proficient EV technician, capable of diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing electric vehicles, particularly those from Tesla.

By the end of this course, you will:
  • Gain a deep understanding of the fundamental principles and components of electric vehicles, including battery systems, electric motors, and power electronics.
  • Learn how to interpret diagnostic codes, troubleshoot issues, and perform software updates and calibrations on EV systems.
  • Develop the ability to safely handle high-voltage components and follow industry-standard safety protocols.
  • Acquire hands-on experience in disassembling, inspecting, and reassembling EV components using specialized tools and techniques.
  • Become proficient in using Tesla's diagnostic software and tools to diagnose and repair various systems within their vehicles.
Prerequisites
While no prior experience with electric vehicles or automotive repair is required, the following prerequisites are recommended:
Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical principles.
Familiarity with using computers and software applications.
Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and industry standards.
COURSE DURATION AND SCHEDULE

The EV Technician Training Program is a comprehensive online course that can be completed at your own pace. The total duration of the course is approximately 50 hours, divided into 9 UNITS.

Access to new lessons and modules will be granted according to a predefined schedule and upon completion of the previous lessons. This structured approach ensures that you progress through the course material systematically and reinforce your learning effectively.

You will have access to the course content for six months after the course ends, providing ample time for you to review and reinforce your understanding of the material.

    1. Introduction
    An overview of the course and its objectives, covering the basics of electric vehicles (EVs) and their components.
  • 2. Overview of Teslas
    A detailed look at various Tesla models, including the Model S, Model X, Model 3, and Model Y.
  • 3. Tesla Battery Systems
    An exploration of the battery systems used in Tesla vehicles, including different models and the DC-DC converter.
  • 4. Overview of Electronic Components
    An examination of the various electronic components and control modules found in Tesla vehicles, such as the MCU, ECU, and various sensors.
  • 5. Fundamentals of Computer Diagnostics
    An introduction to computer diagnostics, including diagnostic tools, software updates, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • 6. Computer Diagnostics (Toolbox 3.0, Loki)
    A hands-on look at using Tesla's diagnostic software, Toolbox 3.0, and Loki for advanced troubleshooting and vehicle management.
  • 7. Maintenance operations, most common faults, and potential problems
    A discussion of common maintenance operations, faults, and potential issues specific to different Tesla models.
  • 8. Certification/Job Search/Finding Clients
    Guidance on obtaining certifications, crafting a resume, and attracting clients as an EV technician.
Completion Requirements
To successfully complete the EV Technician Training Program and receive your certificate, you must:

  • Complete all course units and related assignments.
  • Pass the final exam with a minimum score of 80%.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in using Tesla's diagnostic software.
Certification Details
Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive a proprietary certificate from our institution, recognizing your achievement and expertise as an EV Technician.
